The 2014 Spring Conference in San Antonio, TX is less than two weeks away! The conference will take place April 22-24 at the historic Menger Hotel. The Spring Conference Design Team has put together a schedule packed with relevant and timely educational sessions. We asked the design team what else they’re looking forward to at the conference and compiled the following list of other things that you won’t want to miss:

1. Fiesta® San Antonio coincides with the Spring Conference! It’s one of the nation’s premier festivals designed to celebrate the Alamo City’s rich and diverse cultures.

2. The San Antonio River Walk is less than a 2 minute walk from the hotel and has miles of shops and restaurants to enjoy.

3. Remember The Alamo! It’s less than 20 yards from the hotel, so it’s a stop you probably won’t forget to make.

4. One of San Antonio’s first neighborhoods, La Villita is an historic arts village with 26 shops (some with working artists), three restaurants, and a post office, and it’s an under 5 minute walk from the hotel.

5. The Tower of the Americas is about 8 minutes away from the hotel by foot. At 750 feet tall, it provides beautiful panoramic views of the city.

6. The CRA luncheon is always a treat to network with current and future CRA’s!

We also asked the design team what sessions they’re most looking forward to. They’re excited about the whole program, but here are their personal highlights:

John Beall: The presentation on “Optimizing Patient Outcomes with a Patient Radiation Dose Reduction and Optimization Program” really piques my interest!

Kimberly Berry, CRA: I always look forward to Melody Mulaik’s presentations on coding.  I have yet to walk out of one without learning something new.  She is an incredible resource for all imaging leaders!

Terry Lynn Bucknall, CRA: The Spring Conference has so many great topics! I’m really looking forward to hearing John G. Self discuss “State of Healthcare in the U.S: Navigating Through a Period of Unprecedented Change” and Bruce Hammond talking about “Positioning for Positive Personal Potential.” Melody Mulaik’s talk on ICD-10 is always informative and timely, and something new this year is a panel discussion: “Recognizing Organizational Goals in Staffing – Balancing Labor Productivity with Equipment Utilization and Customer Service.”

Larry Weinreich, CRA: I’m also looking forward to Bruce Hammond’s presentation on “Positioning for Positive Personal Potential!”

Dust off your cowboy boots, and we’ll see you in San Antonio!
