Ed Yoder

Ed YoderDear AHRA Members and Friends,

I am saddened to announce the passing this weekend of AHRA Past President, Ed Yoder, CRA, FAHRA following a tough battle with cancer. We have lost a very special person. He was not only a friend, but a leader of our association.

In over 15 years as a loyal member of AHRA, Ed provided his expertise as a columnist for Radiology Management, an author for AHRA textbooks, and a frequent speaker at many AHRA conferences. He also served our members as a much-valued leader serving 2 terms on the Board of Directors, including 3 years as our Finance Director.  He was elected by the membership to serve as AHRA President in 2013-2014 and was instrumental in developing the association’s strategic plan. He was passionate about leadership in healthcare and volunteered his time and talents out of a strong desire to share with his colleagues and help others.

We are heartbroken that he’s gone. However, we take comfort that he’s at peace and far from pain and suffering. We will never forget him. Certain people touch our lives and, for us, Ed will always be a Rock Star!

As we are waiting for Ed’s funeral arrangements, let’s keep his family and friends in our thoughts.

May he rest in peace.

  2. I can only assume the good Lord needed some humor and insightful advice from one who guided and assisted so many while on this earth, always infusing laughter and joie de vivre in everyone and everything.
Safe Journey my friend, and have no fear, your family will be cloaked in love.

  3. My brother from another mother! My Friend! I selfishly weep for the loss that will be felt here, but i find comfort in the fact that your pain and suffering has ended! What a battle you put up! What an inspiration you left for all! Happy trails!

  4. There are no words for the loss of a great guy. It was an honor to serve with Ed on the EF board. There are so many great times we had with Ed, that it will help comfort us all. We will MISS YOU ED!!!

  5. There is a rock concert going on in Heaven with Ed on lead guitar. It was an honor to serve on the AHRA and EF board with you. Proud to call you my friend. You are missed.

  6. One of the reasons I cherish working with annual clients is the ongoing connection with acquaintances who become friends. Ed was most definitely in that category. “If there’s a rock’n’roll heaven, you know they’ll have a hell of a band.”

Rock on, Ed. For the rest of us, in the meantime, grace, and peace, until we see you again.

    Harry

  7. Ed was a great person, very good friend and a terrific Presdient of the AHRA. I will miss him, his wit and that smile and he presence. All of us will miss what he added to the AHRA and our profession. RIP my good friend, RIP.

  8. Ed was a fine man. Ready with wise advice, a story, and a word of encouragement. My prayers are with his family which he loved so much.

  9. Ed’s most definitely rockin the heavens…it was a pleasure serving w/ him on the board, writing w/ him & exchanging ideas & wit. So many memories…fun trying to remember what took place at which city & which convention…cuz we had so many years & fun times together w/ our crew…RIP dude…& prayers & peace for his family.

  10. It’s hard to imagine an AHRA meeting without Ed being there. Reading his articles introduced me to his brilliance, being on the Board together showed me his loyalty. As he went through this difficult experience, he reached out to me to see how I was doing! His kindness blew me away. This man loved his family, and his AHRA family to his core. Whenever I hear “Pour Some Sugar on Me” – I’ll think back to dancing with our families on the dance floor at the Shimadzu parties. How I’d love just one more dance, my friend.

  11. When I think of Ed, memories of how proud he was of his family are at the forefront. I remember standing with his wife last year at AHRA as he spoke about his illness and how strong and supportive she was. I will smile as I remember Ed and how much energy he exuded.

  12. So sorry to learn of Ed’s passing. Deepest sympathy to his family. Ed will be sorely missed, one of the real leaders at AHRA – you really have left a legacy Ed.

  13. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to know Ed and to meet his family. He left us much too soon, and he will be missed.

  14. More than a rock star, Ed was an AHRA Rock! Family, rock & roll, baseball, and AHRA: if you knew Ed Yoder you knew these too. Great memories, funny stories, awesome guy. God blessed us with Ed. Peace.

  15. It’s unbelievable. Ed just emailed me the prior Wednesday before he passed as I needed some guidance and he did not hesitate to help. It was just like him to put others needs ahead of his own. He was a great friend and his knowledge base will truly be missed.
    Godspeed my friend.
